Art of the Caribbean
Visual arts of the Caribbean have long reflected the diversity of its peoples and cultural traditions. This selection spans pre-Columbian Taino wood-carving and contemporary Rastafarian painting. It highlights forms which Caribbean artists have made particularly their own: cut-out metal sculptures of Haiti and posters of post-revolutionary Cuba, ceramics of Jamaica and carnival art of Trinidad.
