Goodwill Art publishes resources for Art, Craft, Design, Technology, RE and cross-curricular studies. Our teaching folders give easy access to knowledge and understanding of the field loosely called visual culture. Through postcards of art and artifacts and teaching guides, they help to develop visual literacy. This is a vital skill in the 21st century, now that the 'creative industries' have become wealth producers.
Clarity and expertise
The teaching guides - written in collaboration with art educationists and other specialists - consist of succinct yet comprehensive background reading, informative captions for each card and suggested points for discussion and classroom projects. The length of the notes varies from 12-page Starter Sets to 32-page RE sets. Texts are copyright but may be photocopied for classroom use.

A flexible resource
Covering a global spectrum, Goodwill's catalogue lists 80 different subjects. Each polypropylene loose-leaf folder contains teaching notes and 25 (30 for RE) postcards assembled from museums, galleries and publishers worldwide. The cards are inserted in 4-up transparent pages, for convenient use and easy storage. They can be studied in the display pages, removed and used singly, or blown-up on a colour printer (for classroom use only).
For students of any age, examining well-chosen postcards will stimulate interest in art, craft, design and all kinds of studies. Collections can be arranged in any order for viewing and discussion. Individual paintings, sculptures and artifacts provoke widely differing responses, which encourage communication skills and help to inspire practical work.
Wallets
Most of the sets come in teaching folders and/or plastic wallets. The postcards only in wallets (European Painting and others whose teaching notes are still in preparation) come with a list of postcards and brief introduction to the subject. The six RE and three Textile sets come only in teaching folders.
